About the Artist

Rebecca Bahr

My childhood daydreams arrange and rearrange themselves bisecting what was real and what is imagined, thus I am constantly inspired by my new perspectives.  I deconstruct and reconstruct these visions in my art in unpredictable and curious ways by mixing metaphor and whimsy.

I gather captivating images that integrate nature and design, art and ornament.  I then use these inspirations in my art striving for well-balanced enchantment; all in the pursuit of intrigue and beauty, harmony and peace.  Connected elements are sorted, proceed, organized and refined.  These are individual pieces as one would find in a jigsaw puzzle or patchwork quilt.  My technique requires a great deal of attention to ensure the pieces fit seamlessly together in more a mosaic than a classic overlay collage.

I combine and connect my visions to form assembled vignettes to make a reflective statement to open doors to the viewers imagination.  In viewing my art I hope to enlighten, delight and inspire leaving one enchanted.
